In 1960, a small spinning mill was founded close to Biella, and the Verlene brand was born along with it. Initially specialized in pure acrylic for knitting and weaving, it soon evolved into a company equipped with the most up-to-date machinery.
A new range of nobler fibres: wool, angora, alpaca, mohair, cotton, linen, started therefore being used in blends with acrylic and nylon, both for classical straight yarns and for fancy ones. During the ’70s Verlene mostly devoted its efforts to yarns for hand-knitting, especially on German and American markets.
At the same time, the production of classical yarns shifted from pure acrylic to wool/acrylic blends: these products have been highly appreciated from the very beginning thanks to their quality and to precise and fast deliveries.
In 1985, the Di.Vé brand replaced Verlene, it has been a non-stop crescendo: fairs, international sales network and extremely active back-up offices were established, technicians and stylists deeply knowledgeable about the latest fashion trends and technical developments were appointed.
